About this Intensive
Solidarity is in our collective DNA, but systems, narratives, and habits can create wedges that prevent us from being in deeper relationships across movements. This Solidarity Intensive, facilitated by SolidarityIs at Building Movement Project, invites individuals working actively in nonprofit and movement spaces to deepen solidarity practice and be part of a hands-on reflection and skills-building practice session. Through interactive learning, dialogue, and analysis, we will draw on the experiences of organizations and movements practicing solidarity across difference, tension, and harm, while staying grounded in collective liberation. Participants will leave with frameworks, tools, and ideas that they can pilot in their organizations.
Learn more below and apply by submitting an interest form by May 15.
Goals of the Intensive
Identify solidarity wedges and contradictions that impact movement work and capacity to be in solidarity
Deepen shared understanding of transformative solidarity infrastructure
Build skills that support us to stay in relationship across conflict and differences
Leave with one concrete shift or experiment related to solidarity practice
Who Should Apply?
This intensive is designed for activists, organizers, and nonprofit practitioners who are actively working in movement spaces and want to deepen their solidarity practice. You may be navigating conflict within your organization, across coalitions, or in community and you're ready to move beyond surface-level solidarity toward something more transformative and sustained.
Accepted applicants are highly encouraged to attend the State of Solidarity webinar on Solidarity Wedges on May 12 (a recording will also be available to view) prior to attending the Intensive. If you are accepted, there is no cost to participate in the Intensive.
Apply by submitting an interest form by 5pm EDT on Friday, May 15. Folks will be notified with an admittance update on a rolling basis and will hear back from us by Friday, May 22 at the latest.
